hello february

Lovely wool yarn. It smells so good. It feels so squishy and soft. I've been staring at the yarn I got from my mom for the last week and scrolling through my favorite knitting patterns looking for the perfect projects to give it shape.

I think I've found the perfect pattern :) :)

We are expecting a blast of snow this afternoon. It's nice to be tucked in here at home with the baby. I still have the month of February off - I will return to work the last week of March. I'm enjoying these days. There are times when I pause and just savor the moment.

Breathe in. Breathe out. This is the best. Soft baby neck and hands. Baby gurgles and coos. Warm baby in my arms reaching out for me, after the weight of empty arms for years. I didn't even realize how large the void in my life was that he has filled.

So happy to get the privilege to be his momma.

P.S. The weathered leaves came out of my old volume of Shakespeare. I put them in there years ago - probably ten years ago. They have become lacy filaments. I wonder if there is something I can do to them to preserve them?

  1. Is it the Shakespeare book you carried home from Washington D.C.? Lovely post....

  2. Are you going back to work full time? I can't even imagine touching wool at the moment, so hot here in New Zealand.

    1. Hi Julie. Yes, I am going back full time. We're open to reducing my work hours later, but we want to see how it goes at first. I'm sure it's going to be hard. I'm not looking forward to it, but I do like my job. (I'm an intern architect pursuing my professional license.)

We just got 8 inches of snow here! I'm all about the wool.

  3. You can dip them in gold, if you know how to do that. I don't. :-)
