Our son arrived on November 24, 2015 and I'm finally in a place where I can post this great news. It's hard to believe that he's already been here for over three weeks. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding him for the first time and trying to figure out how in the world we were going to care for this little guy all by ourselves!
It's the most terrifying and exhilarating feeling in the world - holding your child and understanding that you are responsible for him! Every day I love him one hundred times more. I can't believe how much effort it takes to care for him. My husband and I look up and suddenly the sun is setting and it seems like we just watched it rise with the baby squirming in our arms. Each day is getting easier, though.
I started the sock last week. The yarn is from Fame Trend. I'm knitting my "go-to" toe up sock pattern alternating every four rows from the beginning and the end of the skein to get the stripe effect. Mindless, easy and addicting. Something simple to pick up while baby is nursing.
The first, third and last photo in this blog are from First Day Photos. We had a mini photo session on the last day of our hospital stay. I love all the photos we got that day.
Well, I'm slowly getting back on my feet and hope to blog more as I'm out on maternity leave until April. I can't wait to try out more patterns for baby and to try all of the knits I made during my pregnancy on baby.
Love to you all this holiday season!

Congratulations, beautiful photos - enjoy your first Christmas as parents.
ReplyDeleteBelated congrats! Looks like you and I are in the same stage of newborn fog right now. My son arrived on Dec 1st. The knit cap and socks he's sporting in his newborn photo are divine! I so wanted to have newborn photos taken with some cute knits but our little guy is completely uncooperative and then he broke out on horrible eczema the day before his scheduled shoot and we haven't rescheduled. His face flares up constantly now so I give up! I guess he'll have to be satisfied with mama photos. You take wonderful photos! xx
